Collection: Elnaz Ceramics

Born in 1985 in Tehran, Iran, Elnaz lives and works in Melbourne, Australia.  

Elnaz’s ceramics are abstract paintings in a form of tableware. Elnaz has made both sculptural forms and domestic objects since high school. She learned about European art history during her ceramic mentorship in Tehran and became fascinated by Abstract art, Minimalism and Modernism, especially the works of Helen Frankenthaler and Joan Miro.  

Elnaz is interested in active meditative engagement with clay and the idea of art for everyday life. She likes to blur the threshold between art and craft as well as eastern and western aesthetics. Each of her ceramics is a three-dimensional painting that unifies eastern use of vibrant colours with western abstract designs.

Elnaz immigrated to Australia in 2013 to continue her career as an artist in Melbourne.
