Akos Creative launched in 2017. With a strong creative design background, and deep appreciation for West African Ghanaian arts and culture, a jewellery shop idea was all too exciting to simply ignore for Akos. A love of colours - their vibrancy, varied tones, and hues makes Akos feel happier.
Akos uses only ethically and responsibly sourced materials. The main materials are handpicked from Ghana - handmade recycled glass beads (Krobo beads) handpicked from Krobo Odumase, the West African Coast of Accra Ghana. Akos also uses African wax print cotton fabrics (Ankara), handpicked from the local merchants, in Makola Market.
Akos recycles, upcycles and rescues clean off cuts of fabrics and materials in her designs – just the way her Mama taught her. Living sustainably is part of Akos' African culture and upbringing. Nothing made ever goes to waste.
