Launching our brand new fundraising collaboration with friends, Music in Exile!
Students, alumni and staff of The Social Studio participated in a creative workshop with MIE graphic designer wizards, Rochelle and Liz, to dream up imagery based on the concept of what community 'sounds like' to them for a limited edition run of tees. Thank you to Somaya, Reem, Aziza, Mahya, Seren, Ashley + Bonnie for your contributions to the final design! The Social Studio manufactured the tees in their Collingwood studio and had them screenprinted locally.
All profits from sales of the tees will be equally shared between both The Social Studio and Music in Exile.
Music in Exile is a not-for-profit record label and registered Australian charity supporting musicians with lived experience of migrant and displacement working in the contemporary Australian music industry. MIE operate on an ‘artist first’ principle, ensuring individual artists have the tools they need to build lasting careers in the arts. In doing so, they hope to build an industry that is equitable and accessible for all, and that is more accurately representative of the many voices in our community.
